Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026

1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy covers the Loupe iOS app and this website (useloupe.shop). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, what we share (and what we never share), and what rights you have. Plain English is intentional — if anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain.

This website collects almost nothing. useloupe.shop is a static informational site. It runs no analytics, sets no tracking cookies, and has no accounts or forms. Our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) keeps standard server logs. Everything below is primarily about the Loupe app.

2. What the App Collects

We do not collect: your precise location, contacts, photos (other than a profile photo you choose to upload), camera, browsing history outside Loupe, social network connections, or your birthdate.

3. How We Use Your Data

Everything we collect is used to run Loupe for you: your swipe history trains your personal feed, your Dresser and quiz responses power your Style DNA, your age range (if provided) helps us show age-appropriate content and apply the right protections, and price-drop alerts require knowing what you saved. We do not use your data to show you ads — Loupe runs no advertising.

4. Affiliate Links — How We Earn

When you tap through to a product and complete a purchase on the retailer's website, Loupe may earn a commission from the retailer. The commission is paid by the retailer — you pay exactly the same price as going directly to their site. We receive no additional data about you from the retailer beyond the commission confirmation, and we never share your name, email, or account with any retailer.

5. Users Under 18

Loupe is available to users aged 13 and older. Data from users in the 13–17 bracket is used only to power their own experience inside Loupe: it is never included in any report, trend analysis, or data product, and is never sold or shared for any commercial purpose. Loupe does not collect any data from anyone under 13 — if you are under 13, you may not use the app.

6. Your Profile, the Directory, and Sharing

Loupe has optional social features. They only apply if you sign in and claim an @username — until then, nothing in this section affects you.

7. Anonymous Trend Data (Adults 18+ Only)

We operate a data intelligence product for fashion brands built exclusively on cohort-level statistics — for example, "users aged 25–34 liked a brand's items at a rate of 68% this week." Brands never receive names, emails, account IDs, individual swipe histories, or anything that identifies you. A cohort must include at least 50 users or we suppress the result entirely. Users under 18 are always excluded before any grouping happens, and you can opt out any time in Settings → Privacy.

8. What We Do Not Do

9. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers, encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Swipe events and account data are retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion. Crash reports are retained for 30 days.

We use a small number of service providers to run Loupe. They process data only to provide their service to us:

Product images and catalogue data are served from public content delivery networks (jsDelivr, GitHub) and from each brand's own website when you tap through to shop. Once you leave Loupe for a brand's site, that brand's privacy policy applies.

10. Your Rights — Delete, Export, Opt Out

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Account → Delete Account. This removes your profile, saved items, looks, messages and swipe history from our systems.

To request a copy of your data, or to opt out of your anonymised activity being included in aggregate trend reporting, email us at the address below and we will action it — we aim to respond within 30 days. These are handled by request today rather than by a self-serve toggle in the app.

11. Changes and Contact

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in-app before they take effect. Questions or requests: crescicharles@gmail.com.
